Term is Resuming at Hogwarts!

Is it really already August? I suppose so and that means that school is coming up quicker than I care to even think about. With school coming up means less updates, which is something I’m not looking forward to. Being a senior this year, I am going to be pretty busy with schoolwork but I plan on still updating at least twice a week every week possible to maintain the site. There are a few updates you can look forward to seeing before school begins though. I do love my current layout, but before I get too busy I’m going to be making a much more complex layout for Lumos. Something wider, with more space for content, with tabs, and more professional is what you can be checking back for. I’m excited about the ideas I have for it but it will probably take me a while to code so don’t expect it too soon. Another thing coming soon is more content! I’m always trying to add a little more content here and there but soon I’m going to completely remodel and add tons to the Tumblr Themes section. I’ll separate themes by number of columns, add background options to some, and add many more styles of them. I’ll also being adding different types of resources for sites. I’ve got quite a few unique ideas for resource content so check back for some stuff you may have not seen before! So, keep checking back for more and more updates coming up within the next few weeks! Thanks so much for all of your support, as well and remember to take the latest poll and let me know what you would like to see more of so I’ll know what’s popular to update!

Ready for Divinations?

Hey! This is a quick update on some things you should be looking out for and checking the site for in the near future. Coming up very soon, within two or three days Lumos Layouts is going to be switching hosts. I'm moving to a host with better bennefits and that is a bit cheaper as soon as I get my latest paycheck. Along with switching hosts means the grand opening of Hogwarts Hosting! If you haven't checked out HH yet, the link is in the top, right-hand navigation. The site for my new hosting service is up but I'm not excepting applications until Lumos' host is switched, so be looking forward to that very soon. The next update you may be able to look forward to is determined by you! Looking to the bottom of this post, there's a poll asking whether or not Lumos should hold graphic contests. If that's something you'd like to see happen on Lumos, please vote yes. If I get enough yes votes I'll be putting up the first round of contests within a week. What will these contests be for exactly? I'll hold two or three different contests per round. Each contest will have a challenge for everyone to complete such as making a blend or an icon. I'll choose the winners for each contest at the end of the round and once a month a prize of some sort will be given to the top winner. Remember, these contests will only happen if you vote though! The final thing I'll mention is that everyone should be looking forward to seeing some sitemodel cut-outs, premade preppy signs, fonts, and blog name ideas to be added to Lumos' content! Keep in mind, if there's ever something you think I should add to the content list feel free to tell me in the cbox!

Mischief Managed

Things with Lumos Layouts are finally getting started really well, I’ve made several awesome affiliates, gotten a good few site views, and put up a ton of content. For the few short days since Lumos has been open, I would say that it’s doing pretty well so far. I’m definitely happy with the progress and all of this just inspires me to work harder to make this website something great and useful.
First of all, I’d really love to thank all of my affies for helping me out. No one would even know of my site if it wasn’t for the link-backs on everyone’s pages and so I owe all of my current site views to my affiliates. Thank you all so much for that. I’d really like to become closer with some of my affies though and actually make friends with some website owners so that I can have elite affiliates. If any of you are interested just talk to me, if we hit it off I’ll have no problem adding you to elite! Even my regular affies are great though and every other site owner I’ve talked to so far has been polite and helpful. So, hopefully I’ll be making more in the future.
Secondly, I’ll promote some of my newest content that some of you may have no looked at yet. I’ve been working pretty hard on adding video tutorials to Lumos. With previous websites that I’ve owned, I’ve always just typed up step by step tutorials for people to read but with this site I thought I’d take a different approach and put some together that you could actually see and hear. My voice isn’t the coolest thing in the world, but I think some of my tutorials are pretty helpful if you’d like to check them out. Another thing I’ve put up recently is Photoshop brushes. I put together ten full brush packs with anywhere from 3 to 10 brushes in them ready to download and use. They’re not just typical brushes you see on many sites, either so be sure to give those a look. And the very last thing I’ll mention is the hover and sidebar codes I have available for use now. If you have a Tumblr you no doubt know that there’s many neat HTML tricks people use on their pages to add unique effects to their themes, well I’ve coded some of these elements and put them together in one place for you. They’re split into two categories, hover and sidebar to make it easier to find which one you’re looking for, so browse through those pages and find something you like!
Finally, I’d like to give a heads up to all of my site’s affies and viewers that within the next few days I’m going to be doing some editing on the actual layout of my website. So, if things look frazzled, it’s because I’m just moving a few things around. It shouldn’t take longer than a few hours, but I’ll go ahead and apologize in advance for any inconveniences! Be looking forward to a wider layout with more space in the future though! Until then, that’s all I have for now! Thanks for reading!

What's up? Welcome to Lumos Layouts, a brand new site designed to help Tumblr bloggers and other website owners. Right now, things may look a bit frazzled, some links might not work, and there might be a lot of "coming soon" signs up but all of these things will be sorted out within a week or two. Even if you don't see much up right now, keep in mind that the content on this website will include a variety of unique and awesome things. I'll be putting up finely coded, one of a kind Tumblr themes, plenty of codes to make your page come to life, layouts for web pages, and even video tutorials on HTML and Photoshop. So, be looking forward to all of that coming your way very, very soon! Content for visitors is the site's number one priority, but I'm also here to help other website owners. There will be a form always open for requests incase you don't see something on the page you want or you'd like something customized to fit your needs. The site will also have different spots for sites to advertise in and I'll always accept new affiliates to hopefully help get your website more views. Overall, Lumos is here to illuminate even the darkest areas of your coding and graphic design needs!

First&Newest Layout Ft. Harry Potter

With a name like "Lumos" how can you not have a Harry Potter themed layout? Personally, the book and movie series of Harry Potter has been a huge source of inspiration. Reading or watching, I always tend to find some sort of magic that challenges my thoughts. Though everything seems to revolve around Harry Potter, I might have differently themed layouts later on. I do entend to keep the name Lumos, but don't be surprised if you see differently themed layouts in the future. For now though, enjoy your stay in the one and only room of requirement for all of your HTML and graphic needs!
